Research and Development
In Research and Development, we focus on delivering innovative products while paying special attention to the services and devices which support hygiene specialists in their constant battle against pathogens. We operate fully functional chemical, analytical and microbiological laboratories and are in a position to address even the most difficult development challenges. Furthermore, we cooperate closely with a network of external partners who assist us in solving issues that are outside the realm of our core expertise. OCC is managing projects at several universities, external research centers and testing laboratories in order to enhance the protection of health professionals, patients, cleaning personnel, patients and third parties from harmful microorganisms.
Our goal is to focus on breakthrough innovations. However, product adaptations which improve the daily customer experience are equally important for us. These adaptations range from a more pleasant fragrances to richer skin care components. Continuous communication with our suppliers keeps us abreast of the latest development in the consumer and institutional fields of applied chemistry. Frequently, little known properties of chemicals reveal fantastic germ-fighting properties. Our job is to find those beneficial properties and we greatly enjoy this challenging work!
We ensure that the production facilities of OCC Switzerland operate at the highest possible standards and strictly adhere to quality control and quality assurance practices. All raw materials are thoroughly tested and kept track of throughout the manufacturing process. Using modern IT solutions, we ensure that each raw material is used up within a few months, far ahead of their respective expiration dates. Strictly enforced manufacturing practices provide for highest quality standards and a virtually an error free production environment. In addition, multiple product check points are in place for early detection and prompt resolution of any potential issues.
At OCC Switzerland, we work hard to ensure full compliance with Swiss, European and International regulations regarding chemicals, biocidal products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The exact classification standard varies among countries. The theme "killing germs for a safer word" which focuses on safety resonates strongly in Research and Development. Indeed, the safety of our customers and the environment are crucial when delivering highly active germ-fighting products.
Our busy laboratories are eager to address any potential issues brought up by our customers. However, our philosophy is to preempt questions and problems before they arise. Our R&D staff is actively lecturing and teaching the concept of applied hygiene. As a result, we meet with numerous professionals gather valuable feed-back.
