Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the aspirating unit represent a risk of infection?
Yes. Research has shown that under certain cirmcumstances, a reflux of aspirated water, saliva and blood into the patient’s mouth can occur. There is also an increased risk of infection for staff during the cleaning and maintenance of the aspirating unit. - Is cleaning sufficient?
You should clean thoroughly to preempt the build-up of blood, saliva or plaque and disinfect well to reduce the number of germs, lowering the risk of infection. - How often shall I clean the aspirating unit?
In order to maintain a hygienic level of the aspirating unit, we recommend the daily use of ORO CLEAN® Liquid for cleaning purposes and the application of ORO CLEAN® Plus once per week for disinfection. We also recommend to rinse the unit carefully after surgical procedures and before disinfecting. - What is the difference between ORO CLEAN® Plus and ORO CLEAN® Liquid?
ORO CLEAN® Plus is a disinfection and cleaning concentrate while ORO CLEAN® Liquid is only a cleaning concentrate for aspirating units, spittoon bowls and amalgamate separators.
