An anti-corrosive ready-to-use solution for the rapid disinfection and cleaning of rotating instruments.

  • 3 Advantages
  • Short exposure time / fully virucidal
Works within 2 minutes against all bacteria, viruses and fungi
  • Great value
Solution stays good for up to one week
  • Maximum safety
Strong cleansing power makes manual after-cleaning redundant
The ready-to-use disinfecting solution for rotating dental and surgical precision instruments (such as diamond burs, carbide burs, polishers and instruments made of steel) offers a broad effective spectrum thanks to an unique tenside formulation which achieves high cleaning power, even in the presence of high organic contamination. The phenol- and aldehyde-free composition prolongs the life-span of the instruments significantly, ensures high material compatibility and prevents discoloration and fixation of blood. No rinsing after disinfection is necessary.
The product is biodegradable. The standard bath life based on average contamination levels is one week and hence PROSEPT® Burs can be used in a very economical and ecological manner.

Easy to use

ust follow these easy steps:

  • Wear household gloves and goggles.
  • Pour solution into bur bath. To enhance the solution’s effectiveness, pour into a cup and place cup into the ultrasonic cleaning bath.
  • Immerse instruments and follow exposure times.
  • After disinfection, leave rotating instruments to dry. Do not rinse with water to prevent corrosion.
  • In case of visible contamination, use a brush; reimmerse the instruments into the bath and after disinfection, leave to dry.
  • Change of solution according to the degree of contamination. The standard bath life is one week based on average contamination. Alternatively change more frequently. Before first time use, test material compatibility by applying to a small inconspicuous area. Only to be used on alcohol-compatible materials.

Excellent material compatibility

Which materials are suitable

PROSEPT® Burs has been successfully tested for compatibility with the following materials: dental and surgical rotating instruments made of steel (at room temperature, 60 ºC and 134 ºC) as well as PE, PTFE, PP, acrylic glass, silicone and cast iron.

I personally guarantee for the excellent material compatibility of our products with my signature.

Do you have the same questions?

Our R&D team answers:

  • Why are rotating instruments disinfected not together with other instruments?
Rotating instruments such as drills, trephines, and polishers can sometimes have negative reactions to water-based instrument disinfectants. The loss of sharpness or even the formation of rust can be the result. Thus, a special drill bath with an alcohol-based fast-acting disinfectant including corrosion inhibitors was developed for rotating instruments.
  • Can I boost the cleaning effectiveness of PROSEPT® Burs?
The disinfecting and cleaning effect of PROSEPT® Burs can be increased with ultrasound. While PROSEPT® Burs is suitable for use with ultrasound, the compatibility of other disinfectants should be tested before their application. The manufacturer’s information will let you know if the instruments are suitable for use with ultrasound.
  • What should I look out for when using PROSEPT® Burs?
After using PROSEPT® Burs, always check for residue on the rotating instruments. If there is residue, they must be cleaned and disinfected again. After the disinfection, do not rinse the instruments with water. After allowing the instruments to completely dry, they should be sterilized if used for invasive procedures.
  • Can one use a disinfectant for rotating instruments on other instruments?
Generally, disinfectants for drills are also suitable for the disinfection of other instruments. However, disinfectants for drill baths are not concentrates – they are working solutions and it therefore does not make economical sense to use them for other instruments. 1-3 liters of working solution would be required for the immersion disinfection of other instruments.
